Mom Boss Sip 'N Shop

3 Mom Bosses who have come together to support small businesses and their community

By Miranda Gonzalez, the Mac Kid publisher for the Mansfield to Burleson area in North Texas December 3, 2019

What could be better than a group of moms coming together to support each other's businesses and to help each other succeed and grow?

How about if that same group of moms also decided to reach out and support other moms by hosting shopping events where these other moms and their businesses would be showcased?

Then, what if this same group of moms took all the vendor fees from their events and donated them back into the community, to support a local teen outreach program?

Well, that is exactly what these 3 Mom Bosses have done! A couple of years ago, Mary, Heather, and Jennifer came together with a shared vision of what they could do for each other, for their businesses, and for their community.

The Mom Boss Sip 'N Shop began in a kitchen, and they had a grand total of 9 guests. Those 9 guests enjoyed it so much, that within the year their "side hustle" had grown to include 10 more vendors, and they obviously were in need of a bigger venue. Their next event was at the YOUNGLIFE Joshua building, and all the vendor fees they collected from that event got donated back to YOUNGLIFE, a Christian based teen outreach program (you can learn more about YOUNGLIFE here).

Their event continues to grow in popularity as a fun shopping experience that focuses on and supports local, female business owners. As they have grown they have been able to expand their charity base as well. In addition to YOUNGLIFE, the Mom Bosses now also support the Joshua Cares Food Pantry, and they were able to fully sponsor a young person to be able to go to camp last year.

This Thursday will be their largest event to date, with almost 30 vendors! As they've grown, they have stayed focused and passionate about supporting female owned micro-businesses and giving back to their local community outreach programs--all while providing shoppers with a unique experience that is so much more than just a vendor fair.

I hope you'll come out to Lost Oak Winery in Burleson on December 5 to have some fun and get some holiday shopping done, knowing that you are also supporting an awesome cause. I'll also be there with some fun Macaroni Kid info, so be sure to stop by and say hi!
