Hey there, Mama. This one is for you.
Do you ever have trouble getting through your day without having intrusive thoughts? Do you struggle to not lose your calm when 10 little things don’t go your way, but then thrive through a major crisis? Do you constantly feel inadequate, unsure, indecisive?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, you may be dealing with some unresolved trauma in your life?
I know what you’re thinking: ‘But Wendy, I don’t have trauma.’
Trust me when I say this, that wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard that. And then let’s dig a little deeper.
I hate to break this to you but everyone has trauma. Everyone. Yes. Even you. There are two types of trauma, big “T” and little “t,” and we accumulate these traumas throughout our lives. If we are able to process that trauma and heal, it leaves our bodies and we are able to move forward through life. If we instead were taught to shove it down, forget about it, or my personal favorite, “leave it in the past,” (that’s impossible by the way,) then that trauma never left our bodies, and we are still carrying it with us.
Trauma trapped inside the body can cause many different issues, including but not limited to health issues, physical manifestations in the body, stress, anger issues, addictions, and irrational outbursts.
As someone who has walked this healing journey for five-plus years now, I can tell you it’s hard work, but it’s worth it.

If you can’t figure out what it is that’s upsetting you, causing you anxiety and those sleepless nights, it’s possibly unresolved trauma. Seek help and counsel with safe people and find resolution. It’s worth the work.
